If you thought our spy follows only sportscars and exotics, you’d be wrong. He’s also interested in more mundane sets of wheels like, say, a BMW SUV. And it’s hard to ignore him when he sends in a bunch of images of the upcoming BMW X5, especially since we know the F15 platform that underpins the all-new model is a version of the fabulous F10 5-Series chassis.
Also, the pic above shows the X5 with the least amount of disguise, allowing us to see the sleeker lines overall and the sharper fascia showing a more upright double kidney grille and production headlights that are reminiscent of the ones seen in the F30 3 Series.
The new X5 is likely to come with a wider array of engine options than before, including an inline-six and a V8. Although there’s speculation about a possible turbo four-pot, it seems doubtful considering the SUV’s bulk. We’ll bring you more details closer to its debut — possibly
as early as the New York motor show starting at the end of next month.
