I've got a Mazda 6 Ultra with a 3.7-litre V6 engine tuned by Mazdaspeed, the company's in-house street and racing tuning arm. It's cherry black and was made in the US. It is the only model with a sat-nav system and full smart system by Mazda.
Were you searching for this car or did it find you, so to speak?
I used to drive Mazdas for years and when the Ultra arrived in the US, I asked the dealership about it and they brought it here to the UAE. I went for a test drive and loved it, so I immediately bought it.
Simple. So is it quick?
It is very quick. It goes from 0-100kph in 6.9 seconds and its Dynamic Stability Control system gives it extra grip when going flat out around corners. It has near perfect handling.
But of course we know you don't speed. So, where is your favourite place to cruise?
I like to cruise around the Jumeirah Beach Residence or Discovery Gardens.
Is this your daily driver?
Yes, I show it off every day. With its looks and the sound of the engine, it certainly gets a lot of attention.
What do you like most about it?
I like the way it looks, but it's the speed and the performance that I love most.
Do your family and friends approve of it?
Yes, very much. In fact, two of my friends bought the same car after seeing mine.
Have you got any plans for it in the future?
I am considering converting it into a proper racing car, stripping it out and everything.
If money was no object, what would you love to drive the most?
I love the Mazda RX-8. It races from 0-100kph in four seconds (Or 6.2secs - Ed.) but it is not available here in the UAE. I also love the BMW M5.
