Jaguar, the British carmaker owned by Ford Motors of the United States, plans to launch an all-new XK sports car.

Jaguar has revealed details of the car ahead of its world debut next month at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

The all-new XK is manufactured and assembled in a state-of-the-art production facility at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich plant in the West Midlands. The vehicle will go on sale in the Middle East in early 2006.

Jaguar design director lan Callum describes the all-new XK as having clean lines, purposeful stance and exquisite proportions".

"We took influences from our heritage and evolved them to produce a car that is beautiful, visually fast yet undeniably modern," he said.

The new XK will be the most technically and technologically advanced Jaguar ever built and will be available as a coupe or convertible.

The all-new XK accelerates faster, stops quicker and has exceptional dynamic abilities, Jaguar's chief engineer Mike Cross said.
