Get stranded this weekend (in a good way) on Lebanon Island

Take a moment and imagine this: you can spend a day relaxing on a remote desert island, a long refreshing drink in hand, and then enjoy a night of partying to tunes from big-name DJs. No we’re not talking about a long-haul journey to Koh Phangan, this is all just a 20-minute boat ride away at Lebanon in The World Islands.
Head to the remote paradise via speed boat (1), then jump off, pick your beach spot and soak up the rays throughout the day (2). As you hop from boat to lounger to bar to restaurant to pool to beach, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Jennifer Lopez’s world, as this is a day of VIP relaxation.
Enjoy a few sundowners at dusk and gaze across at the Dubai skyline before you head to the island’s restaurant for international fare – the seafood grill is spectacular.
Come night-time the fun really starts, with music provided by the Must Have Soul DJs, and resident spinners including Da Sendri, Tristan Bain and Dan Chadwick. And when the party winds down at 2am it’s back on the boat to be whisked back to reality (3).
Cost Dh200 for island entry and boat ride
Footnotes
(1) The boats run on Fridays from the Palm Jumeirah from 12pm and depart every hour throughout the day. When it comes to the return leg, the first return boat leaves at 8pm, and every hour on the hour until the party stops at 2am.
(2) Chalets are available to hire on the island for a minimum spend of Dh1,000 between six people. You’ll feel like a total VIP as you recline on your sofa in your private chalet, enjoying refreshments, toiletries, a closet and a mini safe (for all the bling you’ll add to your evening look for ultimate Beyonce beach style).
(3) If a trip to the island once a week just isn’t enough, you can enjoy the Royal Island Beach Club’s facilities for Dh325 during the week. The boat trip is free provided you have a reservation. The beach opens
at 10am and closes at 10pm.
