Photography contest for kids
LG Electronics is holding a photography competition for children up to 9 years in Dubai. Children to the LG arena at the second level of BurJuman Centre from 10am to 10pm daily for LG staff to photograph them using the new LG T5100 camera phone.

All images will be developed instantly and uploaded for visitors to vote for the best photograph.

Pictures that win the maximum votes win LG phones at the end of each day. The competition runs until May 14 and prizes include LG's recently launched TV, refrigerator and two LCD TVs.

"We have launched this competition in response to the increased interest in digital photography," said K. H. Kim, president, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa.

Traditional dance programme
A twin-programme titled Traditional Bharatanatyam and Vaastu for Life will be held at the Indian Consulate Auditorium in Dubai on Friday.

The first part is a dance recital, a workshop demonstration and a film on Bharatanatyam, specially produced for this purpose.

The dance is choreographed and presented by Indu Varma, director of Chennai-based Tapasya, a well-known dance institute.

After this programme, Vaastu for Life will be presented by K.V.L.N. Sharma, a leading vaastu expert from India.

Spanish art
Three of Spain's talented female artists showcase their paintings at an exhibition at the One&Only Royal Mirage Hotel and Resort, Dubai, until May 14.

The works of Cristina Almodóvar, Raquel de Prada and Lorena Allas will be exhibited in the Al Montazah Suite of the hotel.

Cristina Almodóvar captures the delicacy of nature.

Through painting and sculpture, her works embody the reality of nature. Raquel de Prada uses photographic snapshots as a basis for her paintings.

Lorena Allas paints abstracts that directly render her emotions transparent to the viewer in its rawest form. The exhibition runs from 4 to 9pm.

Indian play comes to Dubai
Rangmanch Theatre, Dubai, presents All The Best, a comedy by Indian theatre personality Feroz Khan.

The play is about three friends who are blind, deaf and mute and fall in love with a young girl.

It will be held tomorrow at 8.30pm and on Friday at 7.30pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai.

Tickets are priced at Dh45, 75, 140 and 185.

A taste of the Maori
Dubai celebrates the rich culture of the Maori tribe as part of Shangri-La's New Zealand Food and Cultural Festival, on till May 14.

Pounamu, one of New Zealand's leading Kapa Haka performing art groups, will perform during this period at Dunes Café from 8.30pm.
