A mansion once owned by Liberace has sold for a half-million dollars.

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors reported the all-cash sale closed on August 23 for $29,000 (Dh106,430) less than the listing price.

The two-bedroom, 10-bathroom home was built in 1962 and sits on a half-acre lot in an ageing neighbourhood near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

It features touches reminiscent of the flamboyant pianist, including chandeliers, a mirror bar etched with Liberace’s signature, and a room with tile piano keys in the floor.

Liberace bought the home in 1974, and it was sold in 1989, two years after he died.

Realtor Brad Wolfe says buyer Martyn Ravenhill is a Liberace fan but hasn’t developed specific plans for the home.
