Few of us can resist a sneak peek inside somebody else’s home.

And when the somebody else in question is Keira Knightley, it’s irresistible.

The actress has put her four-bedroom east London property on the market, giving her fans an intimate glimpse of her life with musician husband James Righton.

Though if you take a shine to the six-storey townhouse, you had better start saving – it’s listed at 3 million pounds (Dh17.6 million).

According to one neighbour the 28-year-old actress had been considering whether to give the property to her brother Caleb, 34, but has now decided to sell it instead.

And perhaps it’s not surprising. It means she could end up with a GBP600,000 profit on the Georgian property, which she bought for GBP2.4million three years ago.

The estate agent’s photographs reveal Miss Knightley and her husband have a somewhat eclectic taste.

One of the bedrooms features a sky blue bathtub, while one of its five reception rooms is dominated by a large drawing of a woman, who gazes towards a bright pink sofa.

The house has its own cinema in what used to be a coal store, while a guitar provides a nod to Righton’s career with rock band Klaxons.

The estate agent describes the property as “an elegantly decorated piece of history” which has been “lovingly renovated”.

It continues: “Inside, it’s a feast for the senses. There is an abundance of character that fills every corner of every floor in the house.

“The current owner’s eye for chic French styling effortlessly flows through the house in line with its French roots.” A neighbour said: “We don’t see her very often so it is unsurprising that she wants to sell it.

“It is a beautiful street, all the buildings are so old and deceptively big inside. The last house which was sold here went for a couple of million.”

Knightley married Righton, 30, in the south of France in May this year.
