A Bohemian therapy

Instead of having a massage or our hair, nails and body waxed in different places, wouldn't it be great if we could just have it all over and done with at one time?

Instead of having a massage or our hair, nails and body waxed in different places, wouldn't it be great if we could just have it all over and done with at one time?

For one thing, it would save a lot of time and energy. No more juggling between hair and waxing appointments or giving up that much needed massage because your schedule or theirs doesn't allow it or squeezing in a manicure during lunch hour.

High maintenance

It would be great to go someplace where you can get it all - a perm, manicure, body wrap and more. So instead of having a zillion beauty appointments (yes, we are that high maintenance) at different ends of the city you can have just one appointment at just one place and get it over with.

The Urban Boheme Spa in Abu Dhabi is just that - a place where you can literally have everything you can imagine. I can't even begin to list the number of beauty treatments or services they offer.

For one thing, the Spa Boheme includes a Pilates and yoga studio with certified experts with over 20 years experience offering group and individual classes. Then there are the beauty and body treatments and holistic treatments for problems such as rheumatoid arthritis. (The products and machines for body and facial treatments are all from Germany).

There are also the hair treatments, facials, manicure, henna and waxing. According to Rana Mani, founder of Urban Boheme, the concept for housing the spa and mind-body studios under one roof recognises the demand in Abu Dhabi for quality, professional services that create beauty and wellbeing from the inside out.

Making money

"There has definitely been a gap in the market for this kind of approach to wellbeing. As private, independent, business owners, we recognised the advantage of coming together to offer our services to a larger client base," Mani said. "This concept offers you a one-of-a-kind holistic retreat with a combination of treatments from Ayurvedic, beauty and hair treatments to yoga, Pilates, dance and holistic therapies all in one location by an international team of highly skilled and qualified individuals so the community can benefit from their expertise."

Mani says that Spa Boheme is a "serious business" and is not just about making money. "It is about offering a service that Abu Dhabi has needed for a very long time."

Soma Pilates and Yoga Tree studios

Founded by Sharifa Sehweil, it offers specialised Pilates mat and equipment based classes. Private and semi-private instruction, as well as small group classes are scheduled for Saturday through Thursday.

The Yoga Tree holds classes in Sivananda, which is a form of Hatha yoga, Hatha yoga, pre/post natal, rehabilitative yoga, yoga for kids, ethnic dance and Nia.

Nia is a blend of modern, jazz dance, aerobics, martial arts, yoga and body integration therapy. Various events and workshops are also scheduled.

Regular classes will be offered from Saturday to Thursday.
