Rihanna’s designs

Fresh off Monday’s news that the pop star will be making her third visit to Abu Dhabi this coming November, we had to include some of her fashion designs in our page today. Let’s be honest: These fur-lined slides will not be to everyone’s taste, but sometimes it’s just fun to know that something like this even exists. They are part of her Fenty for Puma collection, and available at shopbop.com for Dh364.

I Saw It First

There’s a new e-tail site in town. Created by Brit expats and BFFs Bianca and Paris, it aims to provide fresh fashion and good value, with stock hitting the site regularly. They carry plenty brands perfect for the UAE climate, such as Mavele swimwear and Beaches Be Crazy, as well as fashion forward pieces by the likes of Lavish Alice. Oh, and you want one of those inflatable flamingoes for your next pool party? They’ve got those, too (Dh350, although they are currently sold out!). We like this on-trend lace-up bodysuit (Dh100) and the VIP High Standards off-the-shoulder dress, on sale for Dh120.

Lancome’s Juicy Shaker

Remember how the French cosmetics giant shook up the beauty world when it launched Juicy Tubes back in 2000 (yes, it’s that long ago). Starting in the middle of this month, UAE beauty junkies will be able to get their hands on their latest lip innovation: Little oil-based lip colours. They are fruity, just like the glossy originals, but with a very soft cushion applicator. It’s the first oil-based lip colour we’ve come across: It contains five oils (apricot, peach kernel, sweet almond, cranberry, Muscat rose) and leaves a sheer colour. You can use it alone, or layer over a lipstick. They come in a cute little shaker bottle and are Dh119 each.

scent!

Stenders melon

We’re on the cusp of summer, and we’ve already got mango juice running down our chins. But it’s the scent of melon that sparks memories of warm breezes, which is why Latvian cosmetic brand Stenders has launched its body care range based on the fresh fruit. The soap, Dh49 for 100g, has honeydew melon, cucumber extracts, cream, sweet almond oil, oat flakes and wheat germ extracts. There’s also a shower gel (Dh98) and body lotion (Dh129). We’re big fans of this brand, which uses plenty of natural ingredients; their face products are made in Korea (and we all know how awesome those cosmetics are). Find it in The Dubai Mall, and The Galleria Mall in Jumeirah.
