Everyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with sneakers. I am not Cinderella hoping for a prince to present me with a high heel glass slipper, I need a man in gym gear lacing up my shoes. These days you can wear sneaks with anything. A dress, skinny jeans, mini skirt, culottes and of course… with workout clothes.

After a weekend browsing the shops, here are the shoes on my wish list:

Nike React

Runners asked for one shoe that could do it all, including offer more cushioning, give them energy, feel light underfoot and also be able to withstand wear and tear run after run. Nike innovators, chemists, engineers and designers came together to deliver a solution in foam, called Nike React. The colour is cool enough to stand out at the gym, but also make an impact on the street. It isn’t exactly a lifestyle shoe, but if you’re a girl about town and you just want something comfortable and not insane looking, this is the shoe for you.

Adidas Originals NMD Primeknit

Anything with a boost, I become obsessed with. These women’s sneakers are made with a flexible, ultralight knit. The most appealing quality of this shoe, apart from the gorgeous colour, is the cool new Primeknit pattern. A total pioneer of contemporary street style, this NMD is futuristic and works with many outfits. Just picture this with a light wash jean skirt and a simple white top.

Nike Air Max 97 OG Silver Bullet

You either love this shoe or you hate it. It’s not exactly new, but it’s almost always sold out. Many people make a weird face when seeing these shoes. It took a certain cool person to convince me that these are classics and totally worth the splurge. I still haven’t been able to get myself to shell out almost Dh900 for them. But there is no denying that they are very special shoes.

Puma En Pointe

Looking good feels good and Puma built their collection for confident women. The En Pointe collection complements all aspects of the hustler lifestyle, but still stays true to the girly girl by offering millennial pink. Plus, an array of pastels offers a variety of stylish pieces to play with. I love the En Point Phenom Satin EP shoes, which are in a light pink colour. They are inspired by the ballet and are made with lightweight satin. Always on point.
