Label Ritu Kumar unveiled ‘vintage sportswear’ at Lakme Fashion Week winter-festive 2016 with its theme for the season being sportswear-inspired street style. The collection blended Parisian styling and Indian textiles with Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon showing it off on the ramp as a showstopper.

The pret collection plays with a palette of colourful and soft tones, creating a must-have collection for next summer. Outfits included off-shoulder tunics, smart maxi dresses, printed skirts and playful dresses. There were a lot of summer whites and pastels in the beginning of the line, culminating in a splash of tribal-inspired prints to cap the show.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the collection, Amrish Kumar, CEO, Label Ritu Kumar, said: “Today, fashion speaks about a certain individuality yet is incredibly connected with the network of people who wear it. Hence, at this presentation of the LFW ’16 and SS ’17 collection we have invited dynamic young online content creators and fashion influencers to experience the collection on the ramp.”

Sanon brought a vivacious energy to the ramp in a dress inspired by the patterns and motifs of Kashmiri weaving.
