A bag with wings

If you’re looking for an everyday tote that’s got plenty of personality, may we suggest you check out the Rebecca from the UK label, which takes on a new trend for bags: Wings. It’s in tough but chic saffiano leather and comes in white, black and grey — although why you wouldn’t want this sunny yellow is beyond us. Dh1,349.

Splash’s beachwear

The UAE high street chain this month launched a new addition to its fashion range: Love Summer, a collection of beach essentials for men and women, including nautical and tropical swimwear, and animal print for the Nicki Minaj in you. There are also cover ups, denim shorts and vests and tees for men. Items are Dh35-100, at landmarkshops.com/Splash and in malls.

beauty

Rodial is back

The beauty brand favourite has returned to UAE shelves after some time away, ready to target everything from wrinkles and age spots, cellulite and stretch marks (we’re huge fans of their plumping lip balm, which gives good but non-Kylie-Jenner-level results; that’s a good thing). And if you’re confused about how to apply all your serums (using several is one of the biggest Asian beauty trends) the team is going to be at Harvey Nichols from today until May 21 to explain the trick to layering. There are special offers for multiple buys.

support

Havaianas for Conservation International

The Brazilian flip-flop brand and the US conservation initiative have been working together since 2009 to raise funds to preserve marine habitats in the state of Bahia. Each year’s CI design features aquatic species found within the regions; around $350,000 (Dh1.28 million) has been invested from seven per cent of the sandal sales. The new design is Dh115, in stores now.

New shops

Mirdif, you’ve just gotten the first Banana Republic concept store on the world. The largest store in the UAE, it’s got an open-plan design and an indoor-outdoor feel. Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, French fashion house Weill has opened at Yas Mall with 120 square metres of feminine ready-to-wear, with plans to open nine Weill mono-brand stores across the GCC by 2019.
