Versace, by Donatella Versace
In 336 pages, with 250 colour and B&W photographs, Donatella Versace is finally telling her side of the story. A Rizzoli book on the visual history of the Italian brand comes out in November, and takes the story from when Donatella took the reins of the company after the murder of her brother, Gianni. Photos by the likes of Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel, and Mario Testino take the reader to the runway and backstage at fashion shows, behind the scenes at the Versace atelier, and showcase red-carpet stars. Writers include W magazine’s Stefano Tonchi; Tim Blanks, editor-at-large for the Business of Fashion; and Ingrid Sischy, of Vanity Fair and Vogue.

Sephora does e-commerce
Beauty junkies already know Sephora’s US website is a gold mine not only for product, but for killing time reading reviews of retinols and red lipsticks (or is that just me?). Now the UAE is getting a version. The French beauty giant is opening up an e-commerce website — sephora.ae — from November 15. We’re told there will be products that are new to the region pre-launched online, as well as online exclusives. Spend Dh250 and you’ll get a free box of products. The site takes cards, or cash on delivery for an additional Dh20; there’s free delivery for all orders above Dh350.
