Chanel — online

It may feel like Chanel is everywhere — on handbags, mobile phone covers, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat — but it’s actually still a pretty exclusive and private company, which doesn’t disclose sales figures and doesn’t sell online. Until now. In fairly major fashion news, Chanel today began selling via Net-A-Porter — but only fine jewellery. The Coco Crush collection — five rings and a cuff — are instantly recognisable as Chanel, with a quilting effect in the 18-carat white and yellow gold. Naturally, Net-A-Porter is “thrilled” by the partnership. “Chanel is a brand that we admire greatly and we are incredibly honoured and proud to partner with them on their first ever fine jewellery e-commerce project. This fabulous collection completely embodies the unequivocal chic Chanel spirit — classic, modern and timeless — that is sure to resonate with the Net-A-Porter customer,” said Net-A-Porter president Alison Loehnis. Items are available at the Chanel pop-up until May 6, priced approx Dh7,20-11,400 for rings and Dh66,500 for the cuff.

New Look at Namshi, Mango at Sivvi

Is Chanel a little out of your budget, but you still want to do your shopping from an armchair rather than a so-busy-it’s-scary mall? You’re in luck this month as two high-street stars are now selling through local e-tailers. New Look launched its latest on Namshi.com last week. Meanwhile, head to Dubai-based Sivvi.com for the latest women’s collection, accessories and shoes from Mango — including pieces not available in UAE stores. Sivvi does its own buying so expect a UAE fashion-friendly mix of items, updated on a monthly basis. Both sites have 24-hour delivery in the UAE, an exchange policy and cash on delivery.

Joe Fresh

Hard to believe, but there are still major brands out there that don’t have a presence in the UAE (hurry up, J. Crew and Unilqo!). But we can tick one more box off today with the opening of Joe Fresh, a Canadian fast fashion brand that lands at Yas Mall. Carrying the brand’s women’s, men’s and children’s collections, the 10,000 square foot store is the first of nine Joe Fresh stores planned for the UAE by 2018. Think of it as a cross between Gap and J. Crew — pretty, modern North American style. The face of the brand is none other than Taylor Swift’s BFF Karlie Kloss.

Peter Thomas Roth skincare

They teased us with the masks — now the full range is finally in UAE. Here’s hoping this is a sign of more global beauty brands to come (because frankly, we’re still shockingly limited in the ranges available here). PTR products focus on a range of skincare needs, and the Camu Camu C Vitamin C Brightening Cleansing Powder (Dh165) is currently one of the hottest products on the market anywhere (powder cleansers are the of-the-moment way to clean your face, didn’t you know?) thanks to the vitamin C-rich Camu Camu berry.
