Amato turns up the wattage

Over-the-top opulence is what Amato is all about, much to the delight of the crowds at the the Bride Show Dubai. The glittering fashion show was lit up by thousands of sparkling Swarovski crystals sewn into around 40 gowns.

Setting the scene, Amato - Italian for "beloved" - started off with the arrival of a shimmering vision on a magic carpet which hovered down to deliver its precious cargo at the tip of the triangular stage.

Positively dripping with crystals encrusted around a plunging neckline, the creation was joined by five other stunning wedding dresses, each screaming "look at me".

Lavish
Lavish headdresses crowned the figure-hugging looks which glorified feminine curves before flaring into elegant fishtail trains.

Using tulle, dentelle lace, silk and velvet, the luxurious work of Amato's Filipino designer Furne One was heartily appreciated by the audience below.

Ruffles, corsets, sequins and elegantly framed décolleté were paraded with pride as onlookers were dazzled at every turn.

With a starting price of Dh10,000 ("the sky's the limit," said the designer), this show was a celebration of wealth without bounds.
