Here are some new launches and deals in make-up and skincare that have caught our eye this week:

All buttered up

The UAE is finally a couple of degrees cooler and — as expected — we are freaking out about sweater weather. This also means that it’s time to break out the ultra-moisturising lotions and creams to stop our skin from freaking out as well. If you want to get fancy about it, L’Occitane’s new formulation of its shea butter line is one to keep in your arsenal. The Ultra-Rich Body Cream, with 25 per cent shea butter, is back with an improved formula and packaging; for something a little lighter there’s the Ultra-Light Body Cream (5 per cent) shea butter. For extra layers of moisture there’s the Shea Fabulous Oil, Shea Shower Oil and Rich Lotion. Prices start from Dh99.

Naturally pampered

Beauty treatments can be pricey, so we always love finding a good deal. This one from an organic Dubai salon is pretty neat. Queen’s Beauty Lounge is letting patrons choose three treatments (out of 45 they offer) for an introductory price of Dh300, or five for Dh500, as part of its Go Organic package. The salon uses brands and treatments such as the Yon Ka water intense facial that uses plant and fruit extracts, Evo Oxygenating Gel nail treatment that is formaldehyde-free and vegan, and Nashi Argan organic repair therapy. Whether or not you’re into the all natural movement, this offer is hard to pass up.

Nailed it

Winter nail colours don’t always have to be dark and moody, according to Lottie London. The beauty brand’s recent nail polish launch does include some rich shades, but we are gravitating towards to pops of glitter (Hipster and No Limits), lipstick reds (Icon-o-holic) and cool metal shades (Gimmie the Beat). All shades for Dh39.

Party all night

YSL Beaute wants ladies to get into the party mood with its latest release — a long-lasting, matte foundation called All Hours, which they say will get you through a night of dancing and merry making. It’s said to be waterproof and transfer-resistant, and comes in 22 shades. In keeping with a recent trend (hello, Fenty Beauty and Huda Beauty) the All Hours foundation was released with its own special primer that is meant to blur pores and smooth out the skin. If you want more coverage (who doesn’t, am I right?) there’s also an All Hours concealer, which was apparently tested by being worn in a sauna. Time to get those party shoes on, people. Prices start from Dh159.
