The venue: Tips and Toes, Dubai Festival City Mall.

The treatment: Harmonie Tendresse Facial.

What we liked: I like that the facial focuses on protecting the skin and preventing inflammation. This winter has truly taken a toll on my skin, making it dry and sensitive, so when I was invited to check out the new range of Anesi facials I knew which kind I wanted to go for.

There are six facials in the range — anti-ageing, detox moisturising, peeling, tightening, soothing and repairing. I needed all the soothing in the world, so I picked the Harmonie Tendresse Facial.

I visited the salon’s branch in Dubai Festival City Mall, which is one of the locations offering facials, and was welcomed with that familiar Tips and Toes hospitality and pleasantness.

My aesthetician quickly noted my concerns and got started, beginning with my favourite skincare step — cleansing.

A gentle and cool cream cleaner was first massaged in to remove any dirt and grime on my face. After a second cleanse, a series of masks and serums were applied in multiple steps. None of the treatments ever felt harsh on the skin, and even the steaming and extraction process was completely bearable, even a little satisfying.

What we didn’t like: My only caveat was the usage of what felt like dotted cotton pads to remove the product from my face after each step. The little nubs on the pads felt fine the first few times they were used, but after multiple uses they were slightly irritating on the skin. Fortunately they didn’t really take away from the benefits of the facial.

Go for: A relaxing and soothing treatment that will leave you with glowing, plump skin. In the days after, my skin felt less sensitive and prickly from the cold, and looked brighter.
