Eat, drink and be charitable.

In the wake of the tragic earthquake in Haiti people in Dubai are being encouraged to do their bit and support a good cause.

From Hive to Haiti takes place tonight (Sun) at Hive, Souk Al Bahar, where every single dirham taken across the bar will be donated to help the people suffering on the island.

In addition, a donation matching the amount collected in bar takings will also be contributed by bar owner Robert Norton.

Moved by the suffering and devastation, Norton hopes friends and business colleagues will also make private donations.

"The final sum could be several times that of Hive's takings if my persuasive powers are successful," said Norton.

"The public is not being asked to do any more than simply enjoy Hive's hospitality for the night in the name of a good cause."

And on Monday, Okku Restaurant & Lounge are also playing their part with their own charity fundraiser.

The 'Okku Loves Haiti' event will see proceeds from the contemporary Japanese restaurant's dinner being donated to the UAE Red Crescent to provide much needed aid to the devastated Caribbean country.
