Cyrine Abdul Nour is set to become one of the leading faces of this Ramadan’s television season. The Lebanese singer-turned-actress is appearing in the drama, Lawbet Al Mawt (The Game of Death), appearing on channels, including OSN and CBC.

Here, Cyrine plays Naya, a beautiful woman who runs from an abusive relationship with a husband who refuses to divorce her. Majid Al Masri, Abed Fahd and Mais Hamdan also star.

Q: This is your second TV project after Ruby. Isn’t it based on a short story?

I am a fan of acting, but this series is really down to the writing and the directing. It is based on a short story, but it was made into a 30-episode series. It’s a great story and I am looking forward to seeing.

Q: Tell us more about your role?

I don’t want to reveal too much in order not to spoil it; however, I am very happy with the role. It’s quite far from the role of Ruby. Is she happy with this filthy rich man, for instance? How can she escape her abusive marriage?

Q: Your last album was out in 2009. Would you ever go back to music full-time?

I am still doing music and I film a music video here and there. Production is private now — not with a major record company — and we get sponsors.

Q: You’re quite active on Facebook and Twitter. I take it you enjoy it?

There are limits to social media. I love communicating with my fans, but I know what to share and what not to share, and my fans are the same. The problem with these sites is when users start bothering people — whether celebrities or just people they know.

Q: You’ve won countless awards for your role in Ruby. What does winning mean to you?

I am always happy when I win an award that’s voted by fans, because that’s when you know you are doing something right and presenting something that people want to watch or listen to. My fans are my oxygen.

Q: Finally, you always look flawless in public. What’s your secret?

My stylist is Maya Haddad and she helps me with choosing a majority of my outfits and dresses. As for other things, it’s all about working out and feeding your body with good, clean, food.
