Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family ticked Bollywood off their to-do list during their India tour when the family met up with Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhtar.

Trudeau, along with his wife Sophie Gregoire and his three kids, are on a week-long tour of India, which included visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra and meeting with movers and shakers of the business world to grow investment ties with Canada, including the film industry.

Bollywood, which is one of the biggest money-spinning industries in India, was forecasted to rake in $2.89 billion in 2017 according to a report by accountancy firm Deloitte and The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.

Canada remains a popular destination for Bollywood film shoots, including Khan’s film Kal Ho Na Ho (2003). Actor Akshay Kumar has also shot several films in Canada over his career, including International Khiladi (1999), Bewafaa (2005), Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006) and Thank You (2011). Meanwhile, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra chose Canada for the international launch of her Punjabi feature film Sarvann in December.
