After years of skirting questions about marriage, actor and producer Dingdong Dantes has finally popped the question to long-time girlfriend, actress Marian Rivera, and she said yes.

The actor proposed to the 29-year-old actress on her TV dance show Marian on Saturday, her pre-birthday celebration.

"In the long time we have been together one thing is clear to me—it's that I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” an emotional Dantes told Rivera while on his knees.

The two have been a couple for five years, first meeting on the set of the popular TV soap MariMar in 2007.

"I offer you myself, my love today and all the days of my life. So please, Marian, will you be my wife?" Dantes asked Rivera, who will be celebrating her 30th birthday on August 12.

She responded by kissing him on the lips before he inserted a ring on her finger.

Later in the show, Rivera told Dantes she is confident that she is the only woman he has ever loved so much and that she doesn't care how many children he wants.

"Is that a yes?" Dantes asked. "Yes!" Rivera said.

There is yet no official date for the wedding but Rivera had told tabloid! in an interview in Dubai last year that when that happens she would like a church wedding.

She also said she would like to do another movie with Dantes. “Probably heavy drama because Dingdong and I have never worked together in a heavy drama film,” she said.

The two have enjoyed a successful onscreen relationship beginning with 2007's MariMar, followed by Endless Love and My Beloved, with both TV series considered  as popular as their first project.

In real life, the two share a passion for charity works and travelling, constantly posting photos of their adventures on their social media accounts. In fact, before Saturday's proposal, Dantes had posted on Instagram a photo of them during a trip to Cambodia.
