Aldub fans in the UAE will have to wait a little longer than their Philippines-based brethren to see the latest movie with the hit loveteam.
Imagine You and Me, the much-awaited romantic film from the phenomenal loveteam Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, popularly known as Aldub, releases in UAE cinemas on July 28, two weeks after it premieres in Manila.
Directed by Michael Tuviera, the film releases in the Philippines on July 13, three days before the first anniversary of when Aldub were first paired together — July 16.
The tandem’s unexpected rise to stardom started on Eat Bulaga!, the Filipino variety show where the two are paired in a segment called Kalyeserye.
Richards and Mendoza first appeared together in the 2015 film My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore. Imagine You and Me will be the first movie with Richards and Mendoza in leading roles.
The movie was shot in Como, Italy, and is about the love story of Gara (Mendoza) and Andrew (Alden) . Gara has never had a boyfriend and believes her love life is jinxed and thus focuses on her work in Italy. Andrew is rude, insensitive and grumpy as he nurses a broken heart. Their love story starts when they meet at Lake Como.
