Zack Snyder’s comic-book re-imagining, which opens in the UK and US on Friday, is being tipped for an impressive box office haul. Deadline reports the film’s creative team of Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer are both set to return for part two, which is being fast-tracked into production.

The Dark Knight’s Christopher Nolan, who oversaw the film in a much-hyped “godfather” producer’s role, may have less input into the follow-up, which would be expected to see Britain’s Henry Cavill reprising his role as Kal-El.

Cavill, who will undoubtedly aquire many new fans starting this weekend, already has one in costar Amy Adams’ 3-year-old daughter Aviana.

“It started when she met him, she liked the look of the ‘suit,’ so when he turned around ... she goosed him,” she told Chelsea Handler, demonstrating her daughter’s impish behaviour. “Henry said, ‘Like mother, like daughter!’”

The actress previously boasted that Cavill, 30, was a comely fit for the role. “It takes a second to adjust, because Henry’s just so good-looking,” Adams recently told Details. “He’s dashing with just a hint of danger, and it’s kinda great. It’s super-hidden. But you know there’s a steeliness within him that makes the gentlemanly qualities all the more interesting.”
