Thievery is in the air in Calabasas and Hidden Hills, California.

Chris Brown, Blac Chyna, Scott Disick and Kevin Hart are the four celebrities who’ve been hit by a string of burglaries in which thousands of dollars were stolen.

TMZ reported law enforcement sources think the stream of burglaries share similarities and might even be linked. There’s speculation that the burglar, or burglars, might know the celebrity victims as it seemed the thief or thieves knew exactly where to find cash and jewellery. Moreover, Blac Chyna, Disick and Brown all run in similar social circles.

If there is more than one crook, then it’s possible that Hollywood could be having a 2016 version of the Bling Ring.

The original Bling Ring was a group of eight teenagers from Calabasas who robbed Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Hilton was robbed 17 times.

Screenwriter and director Sofia Coppola made the unusual story about the teenagers into a 2013 film starring Emma Watson and Leslie Mann.

The teenagers would find out where celebrities lived using celebrity maps, and they would predict when a star wouldn’t be home based on their appearance schedule, according to People.

They were eventually caught thanks to Facebook posts and security cameras.

Brown was robbed in July when three armed men forced his aunt into a closet while they stole cash, electronics and other items. Brown later said he believed that someone in his inner circle was the culprit.

Chyna, the fiance of Rob Kardashian, was left without more than $200,000 (Dh734,398) in cash and jewellery when someone got into her safe at her Tarzana, California, home. Kardashian reported the crime to police. There seemed to be no signs of forced entry into the home, and the safe wasn’t busted open, according to TMZ.

Disick, the father of Kourtney Kardashian’s children, was wiped clean of his beloved watch collection while in Cannes last month. Police in that case believed Disick probably knew who robbed him since, like Blac Chyna, there seemed to be no forced entry.

Hart is the most recent victim. Approximately $500,000 worth of clothes, jewellery and other items were lifted from his home, according to People magazine. Police think the burglars probably broke in through the back door while no one was home. Hart’s home has surveillance cameras, and police are looking at the footage for potential leads.

Hart made a joke on The Steve Harvey Morning Show last week about being robbed.

“They took so much stupid stuff, the stupid stuff made me mad. They took a pair of my jeans!” he said. “You took a pair of my jeans. Ain’t nobody going to fit these jeans. I’m on the streets looking, waiting for somebody to sell me these jeans.”

Hart also said he saw someone in a ski mask go in his bathroom for a few minutes. “I’m dead serious! Went in and took a smash in my bathroom with the ski mask on. I’d rather you go on the floor. Don’t disrespect me by using my bathroom.”
