Singer Taylor Swift has broken a Staples Centre record after performing her 16th sold-out show at the arena.

The Shake It Off singer was overwhelmed when basketball player Kobe Bryant came on stage to commemorate her achievement.

The singer was performing at the Los Angeles arena on Saturday night when the Los Angeles Lakers superstar came out on stage, saying that “16 sold out shows at the Staples Centre is the most of any artist ever.”

The crowd was screaming and Swift could barely contain her excitement as a banner dropped from the rafters to mark the occasion.

Swift even posted an image of the banner on Instagram. “The banners up at Staples Centre right now because WHAT IS LIFE EVEN [sic],” she wrote.
