Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston are an item, according to photos of the pair kissing on a rock by the sea taken by UK newspaper The Sun.
The photos of the pop star and actor — who’s tipped to be the next James Bond — come two weeks after Swift’s 15-month relationship with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris ended.
And a month-and-a-half after Swift, 26, and Hiddleston, 35, who for the purposes of silliness, we will hereon in call “Swiddleston”, were spotted dancing together at the Met Gala party in New York.
Oh, a few pictures and an Instagram video? Hardly evidence of a new relationship, you say?
Let’s allow Harris’ next move to answer that for you.
The internet did not waste a moment in checking his social media accounts, and using a totally-not-creepy tool, found out if he is still following Swift. He’s not! (And not her brother either — what did that poor guy do?) Harris then proceeded to remove EVERY photo documenting his relationship with Swift, of which there are many since they not only debuted their relationship online, they spent over a year posting pictures of the activities that a super-celebrity couple gets up to: Building a snowman, accepting major music awards, sitting together on an inflatable flamingo.
It’s all gone.
Swift, too, has cleared her social media of nearly everything Harris-related, with the vigour of a Stalinist purge, egged on by followers who urged “delete” in the comments of every photo.
One photo remains: A shot of Swift in a bomber jacker with Harris’ album artwork on the back, presumably because it’s also the shot where she debuted her new bleached blonde hair.
And what of Hiddleston, you ask? What’s he been tweeting? On Wednesday he debuted a video speaking about his best friend at school, for Unicef’s #EmergencyLessons hashtag to raise awareness of the need for education for children in war zones.
Speaking to CNN, which covered this because it is huge news, The Sun’s associate editor Dan Wootton said that his team “stood alone in saying Taylor had dumped Calvin. We knew there was more to the story that met the eye and Tom was actively courting Taylor”.
Apparently he bought her flowers, a truly grand gesture, no?
The paper adds that Swift ended the relationship “because [Harris] would not commit to marriage and kids”.
The photos were taken in Westerly, Rhode Island, where Swift owns a seven-bedroom, nine-bath home. Many rightly pointed out that longtime celeb Swift can always be aware of when she’s being photographed, and questioned whether the shots were pre-arranged. The couple kissed, took selfies, leaned their heads on eachother’s shoulders, climbed the rocks hand-in-hand and Hiddleston giving her his coat.
