Actor Will Ferrell, best known for his comedic turns in Anchorman, Talladega Nights and Zoolander, will play President Ronald Reagan in a comedy about the commander in chief’s struggles with dementia.
Exactly. Reagan was one of the most talked-about scripts included in last year’s The Black List, a yearly catalogue of the most liked unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. Ferrell, according to Variety, has signed on to not only star in the movie, but also produce the project through his company, Gary Sanchez Productions.
Ferrell, who looks precisely nothing like Reagan, is practised at the fine art of playing a president. His quipping and cowboying George W. Bush was so popular on Saturday Night Live that he took the Dubya show on the road, spouting Bushisms in the Broadway play You’re Welcome America.
