Ahead of her Abu Dhabi New Year’s Eve performance, Katy Perry sat down for a quick-five round of questions about her resolution and hopes for 2018.

How important is the New Year holiday for you? Do you do anything special to celebrate the changing year?

New Year’s is such a big deal — it’s a time a celebrate the old year, but also to put it behind us, and ring in the new year with a clean slate, full of new hopes and expectations. I always love celebrating the holiday with my family, and this year, it will be with my tour family and my KatyCat family!

Looking back, what is the most important thing you learnt in 2017?

I learnt that it’s most important to speak your truth.

What are you looking forward to most in 2018?

I’m looking forward to continuing my Witness Tour and bringing it all over the world for the next eight months.

Are you hoping to squeeze in some partying of your own after the concert?

[Laughs] I can’t get too crazy! I’m flying back to the States to continue my tour!

What is your New Year’s resolution?

I would like to turn off my phone one day a week.
