Fans may have been gutted when Melisandre couldn’t keep her date with Dubai, but they can hold the door for another Game of Thrones who has confirmed his appearance at the Middle East Film and Comic Con festival next month.
Kristian Nairn, also known as Hodor from Game of Thrones, will be appearing on the final day of MEFCC, which runs from April 5 to 7. The actor, who is reportedly an avid fan of comic books, sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres, as well as World of Warcraft, will be performing a DJ set on the event mainstage. The actor has also earned a name for himself a progressive house DJ.
The original green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank, will also get in on the action with a special karate masterclass on April 7 at 4pm.
Also announced is Montegrappa’s limited edition Iron Throne pens, costing Dh215,000, which celebrate the noble houses from Game of Thrones, while Huawei will unveil its new Nova 3e smartphone at the event.
Earlier, organisers announced celebrities include Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things), Karen Gillan from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Jumanji and Doctor Who, along with Karl Urban from the Star Trek Trilogy, Lord of the Rings, Riddick and Thor: Ragnarok, will be attending.
Also confirmed for the event is Adam Kubert, the comic book artist famous for his run on Wolverine, Weapon X, The Incredible Hulk, Ultimate X-Men, and Spectacular Spider-Man.
It was earlier announced that Carice van Houten, well known for portraying the infamous Red Witch in Game of Thrones, would also be attending the Dubai event, but the actress had to pull out due to work commitments.
The three-day MEFCC will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). Tickets are now on sale online from Dh110.
