Colin Farrell thought using wand was ridiculous

Hollywood star Colin Farrell says it was odd practicing with his wand for the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

“It’s great to do research, but it’s hard to do research on wizards. You can only twirl your wand in your hotel room for three or four minutes before you feel completely ridiculous,” Farrell told Sci-Fi Now magazine.

The actor features alongside Eddie Redmayne in the fantasy film and said it took him a while to get used to the wand.

“It’s a weird thing. When you get to pick up a wand, it’s like your inner nine-year-old is having the best moment of his life. You’re like, ‘Oh my god, I get to use one of these. I’ve always wanted to use one of these.’

“Then you pick the thing up and you’re like, ‘Why does this feel so weird? What do I do with it?’ I actually got complete stage fright. It took quite a while for us to get used to it.”
