Just as news was breaking that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton had far outraised her Republican rival, Donald Trump, the former secretary of state was adding more bullion to her war chest — courtesy of some very recognisable supporters.
Among the attendees at a Monday night fund-raiser at the Manhattan home of film producer Harvey Weinstein were Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick, Martha Stewart, Candice Bergen, Bethenny Frankel, Vera Wang and Tory Burch.
And the star power was not just decorative: Clinton pulled in “something in the neighbourhood of $1.8 million (Dh6.61 million),” Deadline Hollywood reports.
That alone is more than the $1.3 million that Trump has on hand, his campaign reported on Monday night.
