Reality show American Idol is set to return on March 11, 2018, with host Ryan Seacrest making the announcement on Live! With Kelly & Ryan.
Singers Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and country icon Luke Bryan will be joining the vocal competition series as the celebrity judges. Perry also tweeted the news along with a photo of herself, Seacrest and the fellow judges.

The show debuted on the Fox network in 2002 and went on to discover music greats including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert. It went off the air in April 2016 as ratings dropped.
Auditions for the reboot kicked off in August, with this year fans given the chance to audition online with the official tag, #TheNextIdol.
