Tamer Hosni wants to spend as much time with his Dubai fans as possible. One of the Arab world’s biggest stars, the Egyptian singer is headed to the UAE on May 24 to perform a two-hour, all-ages show at the Dubai World Trade Centre, accompanied by DJs and violinists.

“I would expect a massive show, since this will be the first performance with international acts in the Middle East after my new international album with them and many others,” said Hosni in an exclusive interview with tabloid! on Monday.

His new album includes collaborations with rap stars Snoop Dogg and T-Pain, and British DJ legend Paul Oakenfold.

“You should expect lots of surprises in Dubai’s show,” Hosni added. “Every time I have a live performance I feel like it’s my first time and I’m always excited.”

Hosni’s concert at DWTC is the first of what organisers Alchemy Project and Charisma Events say is a series of Arabic concerts by them.

Before the star hits the stage, expect three hours of music with DJ sets by David Vendetta, Kurd Mevrick and Tamer Yehya, as well as a performance by violin solist Micah.

“We are very excited to start the first series of our Arabic Concerts, and we are even more exited to have Tamer Hosni, currently the biggest male artist on the Arab music scene,” said Mac S. Far, CEO of Alchemy Project. “This is his first show of his new album. Alchemy Project will present stronger shows day by day and we look forward to bring the excitement of international projects back to the great city of Dubai.”

35-year-old Hosni stunned his legions of female fans last year when he married Moroccan singer Basma Boussil, a former Star Academy contestant. Of married life, the singer says, “it’s different and an amazing experience,” and confirmed some more big news: “yes, we are expecting the baby soon”.

Quickfire with Tamer Hosni:

What are the songs you most enjoy singing live?

I enjoy all my songs, but every time I launch a new album, I enjoy singing its hits at that time. Do not forget that I write and compose most of them, so I really feel them while performing.

Are you working on any new material, and will we hear it at the show?

Yes, a new international album with many artists.

You were last in the UAE in November 2012 at the Beats on the Beach concerts in Abu Dhabi. What has changed for you in the last six months? What have been the highs and the lows?

All I can say [is], I am very thankful everything is just becoming better and more projects are being accomplished.

How was it being on the same line-up with Akon, Mel C? Are you collaborating with either of them?

Definitely it was a pleasure being with them and living this experience, and yes, Akon and I have two songs in the new album.
