Former Indian minister Shashi Tharoor and Dubai-based businesswoman Sunanda Pushkar may have planned a quiet wedding in Kerala on August 22, but they will make up for it with a three-day grand affair in Dubai starting August 29.

In an exclusive interview with tabloid!, the bride-to-be confirmed the news but said she could not divulge details due to "security reasons". However, she was happy to speak about her grand trousseau plans.

"[Dubai-based designer] Anjali will be designing all my clothes for the wedding. I have known her for some time and she makes clothes that suit my tastes. And more importantly, I look good in them," said Pushkar over the telephone from Dubai. She flew down to Kerala for her Indian wedding last night (Monday). Meanwhile, designer Anjali Chandiramani is busy making the perfect wedding dress for Pushkar. "Sunanda wanted something extremely classy to wear... Although, my designs are a bit funky we decided to tone it down keeping in mind her political background. Her wedding dress will be an ethnic lehenga but the rest of her trousseau is a mix of Indian and Western ensembles," said Chandiramani. The designs were finalised after getting an approval from Pushkar.

"Sunanda has been extremely busy, but we managed to decide on the final pieces after several lengthy telephone calls and sittings. Her brief was simple: keep it classy and classic."

Pushkar hit the headlines earlier this year when she was linked with Tharoor over her stake in the Kochi IPL team, which clashed with his interests as a member of the IPL board.

Tharoor, who was Minister of State for External Affairs, had to step down from his post.
