When Urwa Hocane is around, her doting husband Farhan Saeed can’t be far behind. Months since their grand wedding reception in Lahore, which was spread well over a number of days and a series of glamorous events, the couple looks like they are forever on a honeymoon. While we all know how the former Jal guitarist (back in the day, Atif Aslam was the band’s vocalist) fell out with his other partner Gohar and went solo before fading out as a musician and re-emerging as an actor, this career ‘hop’ is attributed to Hocane who Saeed was dating at the time.
Last year, Saeed debuted on television opposite the love-of-his-real-life, and for once everyone noticed their crackling chemistry. On top of that, their drama serial Udaari went on to mint high TRPs, and it seemed Hocane-Saeed were one of those inseparable, great-looking couples you’d meet in a Mills & Boons story.
The latest on ‘Far-wa’ — as the two are now referred to, in the vein of ‘Brangelina’ — is that Saeed has lent his vocals to Punjab Nahi Jaungi, a film that stars his “lovely wife” (his own words, at a recent Levi’s Live Session, when he introduced her to an enchanted crowd). Though Saeed isn’t part of PNJ’s cast, his song, titled Rab Raakha, features prominently on the film’s OST. It’s a soft and melodious Punjabi track.
The makers released its specially filmed video on Sunday on YouTube, and it’s catching on fast.
Punjab Nahi Jaungi releases in the UAE on August 31.
