“Screaming your views on social media isn’t worth a dime. You need to be out there on the roads and face the opponent face to face. And, they must see the rage in our eyes,” says Vikranth in the trailer of Kavan.

Tamil political thriller Kavan directed by K.V. Anand has Vijay Sethupathy in the lead as Tilak, a channel reporter.

Malayalam actress Madonna Sebastian (of Premam fame) plays Tilak’s colleague.

Interestingly, the film also features director-actor T. Rajendran, who returns to screen after eight years in a significant role. Hindi television actor and model Akashdeep Saigal plays the antagonist.

The supporting cast includes Bose Venkat, Vikranth, Pandiarajan, Nasser and Jagan.

Director Anand said that in the last two decades great changes have occurred in the field of media.

“Today we are aware of its power. But as in every new change, there is a good and flip side to everything,” he said.

Kavan explores the power of the media and its social responsibility.

Kavan story is a collaborative effort of four writers, director K.V. Anand, writers SUBA (Suresh and Bala) and lyricist Kabilan Vairamuthu. Vairamuthu Junior makes his debut as a screenwriter.

The film is produced by AGS Cinemas. Hip Hop Tamizha has composed music. Abinandan Ramanujam is the cinematographer.

Kavan releases in the UAE on March 30.
