What if a thief swallows the object that he steals?

How are the police going to solve the case and restore the goods to its rightful owners?

Malayalam actor and director Dileesh Pothan’s second film, Thondimuthalum Driksaskshiyum, explores this intriguing premise and has been receiving positive reviews after its release in Kerala last week.

Like Pothan’s National Award-winning Maheshinte Prathikaaram, his Thondimuthalum Driksasakshiyum has a realistic style of storytelling, spontaneous performances and good camera work.

One of Kerala’s most celebrated young actors, Fahad Faasil, plays the lead role along with Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The film’s story and screenplay writer, Sajeev Pazhoor, said he planned to direct this story in Tamil and Malayalam three years ago, but it did not materialise. But things started looking up when his producer Sandip Senan mentioned the possibility of Pothan taking over as director.

“Dileesh carries the tagline brilliantly,” says Pazhoor. “And with a co-director like Syam Pushkaran [who won both the national and Kerala state award for the screenplay of Maheshinte Prathikaaram], I knew my story was in good hands.”

Every scene was meticulously worked on. This thriller also features 28 real-life policemen.

Pazhoor, a former journalist with the news daily Deshabhimani, works in the Ministry of Information and Public Affairs (Kerala). He has directed short films and has 75 documentaries including Agnisakshiyude Sakshi and Sangeetham M.K. Arjunan.
