A young Telugu actor has died in the Nepal earthquake. K. Vijay, 25, was in Nepal along with the unit for the Telugu movie etakaram.com.
Music director Kishan said from Hyderabad that he received information on Monday that Vijay died when the group was returning from shooting and the car they were travelling in overturned.
Vijay, a character actor who was also the choreographer for the film, died on the spot while three others were injured.
Vijay was from the Bapatla region in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The film industry has urged the government to bring home Vijay’s body.
The 20-member unit was initially thought to be safe. Kishan said the team left Hyderabad on April 15 for Gorakhpur en route to Nepal.
