Realism marked with a concern for society is evident in Tamil director Suseenthiran’s films.

Suseenthiran has his first hit with debut film Venilla Kabaddi Kuzhu. He then went on to find success again with urban crime thriller, Naan Mahan Alla. The crowning glory was his third film, Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, a poignant story that fetched two Indian National Awards. Suseenthiran’s last movie was the period drama Maveeran Kittu.

Coming up is a bilingual, titled Nenjil Thunivirandhal (Tamil) and Care of Surya (Telugu), releasing in the UAE on November 10.

Expectations are high for the film.

Suseenthiran said that it is a story about friendship.

Sundeep Kishan, Vikranth, Soori and Appu Kutty play four friends who manage a catering business.

“Like in all my films, I have drawn attention to a social issue,” Suseenthiran said.

Vikranth revealed that his character Mahesh is an elaborate version of the role he played in Pandiya Naadu, an earlier Suseenthiran film. Mehreen Pirzada, who has worked in Telugu cinema, makes her Tamil debut. The supporting cast includes actress Thulasi, Harish Uthaman (as the villain) and producer T. Siva.

This is a racy thriller, promised Suseenthiran. “Its climax will be like Naan Mahan Alla and Paandiya Naadu. It’s a story that will intrigue everyone.”
