“It’s not a stereotypical role,” said Richa Pallod of her character in Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka, who has been missing from the big screen for quite some time.

She plays Priya, the daughter of a mob leader living in Mumbai.

“Priya is on a night out with her boyfriend when an incident turns her life into a nightmare. It’s based on a real character and what she underwent. I loved the role for its individual track,” she said,

Calling Prabhas a Hitler-like director, Pallod, who grew up in Mumbai, said he was a perfectionist who made sure that she got her Tamil lines and pronunciation right.

“He was patient and gave me time for more retakes. I liked working with him.”

A trained Kathak dancer, Pallod’s entry into films was accidental.

She was four years old, when, at the suggestion of her uncle, an advertising professional, she faced the camera for a Ponds advertisement. Films happened with a role in Yash Chopra’s Lamhe.

She won the Filmfare award for her Telegu debut with Nuvve Kavali and has worked in all four south Indian languages, including opposite the legend, Mammootty in Daddy Cool.
