Check out Prithviraj’s new look in upcoming Malayalam film Ennu Ninte Moideen, based on a real-life love story that ended in tragedy.
The actor was last seen in Lijo Pellissery’s Double Barrel.
Directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker RS Vimal, this love saga is based on the relationship of Moideen and Kanchanamala from Kozhikode, and features Parvati Menon as Kanchanamala.
“This story is set in the sixties to the eighties,” said Vimal, who had earlier made a documentary film on their lives.
Moideen and Kanchanamala never married, their religion came in the way of their union. Kanchanamala, who is still alive, considers herself the unmarried widow of Moideen.
“Moideen was a journalist who was known for his social work and achievements as a football player,” said Vimal.
A love story of this kind involved immense research over a couple of years and the film was shot in Palakkad, Shoranur and Ernakulam.
