For this bunch of young men from a lower class of society, wearing branded clothing is the ultimate dream. It’s this fascination that drives them to plan a home robbery. But their plans go awry and they are caught by the residents of the gated community. In an accident, one of them dies.

Written and directed by Malayalam scriptwriter Najeem Koya, Kaly (Game) turns into a thriller. Kaly is supported by a team of newcomers, namely Shebin Benson, Shalu Rahim, Vidhya Vijay, Anil K Reji and Suhaid Kukku as well as senior actors including Shammi Thilakan, Tini Tom, Baburaj and Joju George.

“Joju’s role is being talked about,” said Koya.

George plays Thilakan, a police inspector, whom the residents approach for help. Crooked and cold-blooded, he plays a game to terrify the residents and extort the maximum sum of money from them.

“Sometimes an unforeseen accident can completely turn our lives upside down. Kaly is about one such incident,” added Koya, who began his film career in 2010 with the script of Apoorvaragam directed by Sibi Malayil. This is Koya’s fifth script after Friday, Sherlock Toms and Two Countries.

Kaly, produced by August Cinemas, is now showing in the UAE.
