After playing an ageing superstar in latest Tamil outing Uttama Villain, actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan will wear a uniform in his yet-untitled Tamil-Telugu bilingual.

“Kamal will be seen as a police officer. It’ll be a stylish thriller that’ll unfold in a single night. The film will go [into production] from the second or third week of this month,” a source from the film’s unit said.

Trisha Krishnan has been finalised as the leading lady, while Prakash Raj has also been signed up for an important role.

The project will be directed by Haasan’s long-time associate, Rajesh.

Originally, the film was supposed to be shot in Mauritius. But there seems to be a change of plans.

“Kamal had finalised some locations on the island. But due to some logistical issues, the team plans to shoot in India,” the source added.

Ghibran has been signed up as the composer. This will be the fourth association with Haasan in a row.
