In his first overseas public appearance after becoming paralysed and wheelchair-bound in an accident five years ago, popular Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar will meet his UAE fans on Friday.
The ace comedian, who has essayed roles in over 1000 movies, will be honoured at a musical event at Zabeel Park.
The Malayali community has been eagerly looking forward to the comeback of the versatile actor who has a huge fan following. His UAE fans will be able to see him at the event Ishal Laila, organized by Malayalam channel Kairali TV.
“This is the first time he is travelling outside Kerala after the fateful accident. He was very much thrilled to fly again to the UAE where he used to frequently come for shows and award functions before the accident. Though he cannot speak, he shook hands with us and waved to people around when we went to receive him,” E.M. Ashraf, director of news and programmes at Kairali TV told tabloid! on Wednesday.
His wife and children have also accompanied the award winning actor who continues to be wheelchair-bound.
“Our family is very happy to bring him here and show him to his great fans here who have also prayed a lot for this recovery and comeback. This will definitely be a big relaxation for him and cheer him up as well,” Jagathy’s daughter Parvathy Shaun said.
Malayalam superstar Mammootty will be honouring Jagathy at the event which will be attended by other leading actors like Nivin Pauly, Ramya Nambeesan and Innocent, among others.
