The Indian Idol 9 winner Revanth will perform at the Telugu Kannada Dance and Musical Nite in Dubai this Friday at Zabeel Park, Sampradayam Kumar of SL Events told Gulf News tabloid!.

It’s the first singing assignment overseas for the Baahubali: The Beginning singer after winning the title.

Music director Rajan, of the Rajan-Nagendra duo who worked in Telugu and Kannada films in the late ’50s to early ’90s, will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. Rajan’s son Anant, who is a composer himself, will also be present.

Several singers from South India will perform hit songs from both languages at the event. While Hemachandra, Anudeep, Lipsika and Revanth will mainly sing in Telugu, Ajay Warrier and Shweta will belt out Kannada songs.

Bengaluru-based actress-model Pranitha Subhash, who has appeared in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada movies, will add glamour with her presence along with Poorna, who has acted in several Telugu movies such as Seema Tapakai, Laddu Babu and Raju Gari Gadi.

Live 7 band from Hyderabad will be providing the orchestra for the show, which will be hosted by Lobo and RJ Kajal, said Kumar.

Mimicry artist Ravi is roped in to engage the younger audience. Apart from this, around 45 children and 40 women from South Indian expatriate communities in the UAE will be presenting folk dances, Bharatanatyam and cinematic dances.
