Not all successful movies have the potential for a sequel. The 2014 Tamil film Goli Soda was a blockbuster and had a strong theme that could translate in any language. Not surprisingly, Goli Soda 2 was announced and it has created a lot of curiosity.
The shooting for the second part is currently in full swing. The director earlier said that there are four main characters in the movie, and that a full cast list would be revealed in a formal announcement.
Now it has been announced that actor Samuthirakani will play a vital character. Director Vijay Milton says: “We have got Samuthirakani on board to play a very important role in the film. This character is very crucial and important like the ATM character in the first part. Samuthirakani plays a suspended constable... The movie is shaping up very well.”
Produced by Rough Note, with Vijay Milton directing, Goli Soda 2 will have a pool of talents, both in the cast and crew. The director also hinted that there will be another big announcement shortly and it will be huge in terms of casting.

“While writing the script itself I decided it would be great if Gautham Menon made a special appearance as this is a cameo with such a relevance and a character that takes the story forward,” said Milton. “This character will be an extension of Gautham’s real-life character and that is the reason why I was particular about him playing it.”
“The last schedule shoot is going on and we are thrilled with the way the movie is shaping up,” he added.
Voice overs, used in the right way can make a big impact in any movie. Using the right voice, which has celebrity status, also will provide great intensity to the visuals. The teaser of the movie has just got ready and the makers approached Menon to lend his voice for the voice over in the teaser.
The ace director has accepted this request and said to have delivered a brilliant voice over for the teaser.
“The teaser of Goli Soda 2 has come out really well and it required an interesting and intense voice over narration. I have always found director Gautham Menon’s voice texture unique and intense. Director Lingusamy who always have a special bonding towards our company and the projects we execute took efforts and requested him if he could do it for us. He immediately accepted and has delivered a stellar voice over. I am sure the audience too are going to love the teaser. In debted we are as a unit to these legendary directors, for giving us a huge mileage,” Milton said.
