Hyderabad: Chiranjeevi, the actor who ruled the Telugu film industry for almost quarter of a century before joining politics, is back with a bang, if the first look for his comeback movie Qaidi No.150 is any indication. The announcement of the title of the movie came along with a 52-second teaser with the tag line: “Boss is Back”.

Qaidi No.150 (Prisoner No 150) is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaththi and will have Chiranjeevi in a double role. The title recalls one of his earlier blockbusters, Qaidi.

It is the star’s 150th movie, and what could have been a better occasion to unveil its first look than the birthday of the actor.

His milestone movie has been subject of speculation since he had left the film word to enter the tumult of politics, launching his own party, Praja Rajya, in 2008. After failing to achieve success in the 2009 polls and with his political career going nowhere, he merged his party into Congress and became a union minister of state. But he never shut the door on the possibility of returning to where he belongs — the Tollywood industry, as Telugu filmmaking is known.

Chiru, as the star is popularly known among his fans, is now busy in churning out another action-packed movie, produced by his son Ramcharan Teja and brother-in-law Allu Arvind.

Though he turned 61 on Monday, those involved with the making of his landmark film say he has left everybody befuddled with his energy, level of fitness and his moves, especially in the fight and the dance sequences.

“Nobody can say he has crossed 60. He completely defies his age”, said one of the senior hands involved with the movie, which is expected to release by the end of the year.
