If you liked Tamil horror comedy Aranmanai, be prepared — its sequel, Aranmanai 2, is out this week.

Aranmanai centred around a haunted palatial mansion. And encouraged by its success at the box office, director Sundar C claims he has made part two bigger and better, not just in terms of an ensemble cast but also in the massive opulent sets that were constructed solely for the film. A statue of Amman (deity), which measured 31 metres, was also erected for a song. Designed by art director Gururaj, this statue has found a place in the Limca Book of Records.

Hansika Motwani, an original cast member of the franchise, is back for round two, and she shares screen space with Trisha and Pooja Bajwa.

Will she be paired opposite Siddharth on-screen?

Besides Manobala and Kovai Sarla, who are regular fixtures in Sundar C’s films, Soori adds humour to the mix.

Sundar C, who has written the story, also acts in the film.

Hip Hop Tamizha has composed music. U.K. Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer.

From trailers, we learn that a ghost called Maya has possessed someone in the house.
