Anupama Parameswaran, making her Tamil film debut with Kodi, says that the film went beyond her wildest dreams.
“It is unbelievable even now,” says the Malayali actress who is immediately recognisable as Mary of last year’s hit film Premam. “Did I really work with Dhanush?” wonders the fan.
Parameswaran is paired opposite Dhanush as Malathi, an egg vendor in a rural area. The trailers show her slapping Dhanush.
What does she have to say about that?
“That was a scene I was quite afraid [of] and [wondered] how to go about it, but director Senthilkumar and Dhanush sir boosted my confidence. It’s an unforgettable moment,” she said.
In awe of her co-star, Parameswaran said Dhanush is chilled out and a spontaneous performer. “His expressions are so realistic, you just can’t help but react to the dialogues,” Parameswaran said.
An added bonus for Parameswaran was acting with another star, Trisha, whose films she grew up watching. If she was anxious about working with her, Trisha dispelled all fears with her warmth and encouragement.
“I owe it to director Senthilkumar for this role. He is one patient guy who never loses his cool,” Parameswaran added.
Up next for Parameswaran is veteran director Sathyan Anthikaad’s Jomonte Suvisheshangal, her next in Malayalam. Her third Telugu film, Shantamanam Bhavathi, directed by Satish Vegesna, is getting ready, and the actress is in talks for another Tamil film.
