The makers of the upcoming horror film Aks have finally let the cat out of the bag after earlier teasing fans with news of a “special appearance by a controversial personality of Pakistan”.
Filmmakers Asif Iftikhar and the Dubai-based Pakistani musician-turned-producer Asim Saadi have revealed this personality is none other than the Lollywood actor Meera.
Of course Meera’s status as the queen of controversy is uncontested. She has long been associated with the US-based millionaire Atiq ur Rehman, who claimed that the two had tied the knot. Meera challenged the marriage certificate provided by Rehman in a family court in Lahore, and pleaded that it be declared void. Meanwhile, Rehman filed a petition preventing her from marrying again. The judgement is expected on November 15.
Meera has also been linked with Captain Navid — a video featuring the two of them went viral on social media, and prompted strong reactions from the public, as well as the media. Again, she rejected the video as a concoction of morphed images.
Meanwhile, the actor was in Dubai recently where she shot for her part in Aks. According to a source, it’s not an item song; Meera has “proper scenes” in the film.
